ABOUT LVIV
Lviv is a major city in western Ukraine located about 70 km from the Polish border and about 120 km from the Carpathian Mountains. Population of the city is about 800,000 and its metropolitan area has over one million people.
Lviv is a huge scientific and educational center with 24 institutions of higher education, more than 40 research institutes, including 8 institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The city is known as a center of art, literature, music and theatre. Lviv has a lot of historical and architectural monuments, more than 60 museums, 100 churches of different confessions. The historical center of Lviv has included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
