High temperature strength of structural materials in gas and liquid metal media

Scientific credo: Surface engineering of structural materials in gas and liquid metal media; evaluation of the corrosion compatibility of structural materials with liquid metal coolants; study of the corrosion and adsorption aspects of the influence of low-melt metals on deformation and destruction mechanisms.

Main line of investigations:

  • study of physicochemical effect of the gas and liquid metal media on structural materials at high temperatures;
  • development of physicochemical bases of the new methods of surface modification of structural materials in controlled gas media;
  • development of physicochemical bases of the formation of functional protective layers to provide the operability of structural materials in the contact with liquid metal media.
